Explore and discover…
If it is related to food, we are talking about it. Recipes, food sourcing, techniques, storage, as well as our blog. Food is fundamental, so it’s worth our focus. It’s a skill, so it’s worth learning well. You will also notice we include some very basic recipes (boiling an egg, cooking rice, etc.). These are critical skills and should not be too easily dismissed. This is especially true for new cooks. Each will develop their own preferences and techniques, but the techniques shown here will form a solid foundation from which to start.
Search, browse, or use the slider on the front page to flip through recipes. The categories are broad, it turns out that categorizing food is a bit tricky. Is a boiled egg a breakfast food or a salad topping? We don’t overthink it too much and besides, isn’t breakfast for dinner a thing?
And, that’s always the message: recipes are not mandates. It’s all about exploring and discovering.

Affiliate Link Policy
You will find links throughout this site that will connect you to online retailers. If you click on the link and buy something from the retailer, we will earn a small commission. The revenue helps offset site costs (domain registration and development, for example). The inclusion, however, does not influence editorial decisions. The products and sites are sources that we use and do recommend. In many instances, we include competing sources because we shop at both. The goal is to connect you with our preferred sources. If that source has an affiliate link program we certainly apply for it. Many of our affiliate links are to Amazon, though we encourage people to shop local and small. For example, we buy our lard and tallow from small businesses on Etsy. So if you see a link to Amazon, it means we just couldn’t find a decent source elsewhere (like salted capers). This is not always determined by price. We would rather pay a few extra bucks to buy from a mom and pop, and if we find one, that’s who we will connect you with. So, our preferences may not match yours, but our links will be a good base reference.
